Protective equipment

Clear communication. A big difference.

How do you ensure that your colleagues wear head protection in areas where this is required? And how do you ensure their safety when working at great heights? We will go through all the signs for wearing protective equipment with you.

Respiratory protection

Up and down motions are made towards the nose and mouth with either the left or right hand, with the fingers looking like they are cupped around a ball.

Hearing protection

Up and down motions are made towards the ear with both the left and right hand, with the fingers looking like they are cupped around a ball.

Hand protection

With this gesture, a curved left hand is first held in front of the chest, with the right hand making a downward movement in front of the left hand, looking like a glove is being put on. The right hand is subsequently held in front of the chest and the left hand looks like it’s putting on a glove.

Head protection

Up and down motions are made towards the top of the head with either the left or right hand, with the fingers looking like they are cupped around a ball.

Eye protection

Back and forth motions are made towards the eyes, with both hands looking like they are cupped around a ball.

Fall protection

This gesture consists of two parts. Firstly, the arms are bent with clenched fists next to the body. The arms are moved inwards at the same time, making it look like you’re putting on a coat. The second gesture involves moving the hands up and down, as if you’re pulling straps from both shoulders.

Hooking on

A gesture is made with the right or left hand, making it seem like a hook is being fastened.

He! He! He!
